Confidential Intelligence Fund ng OVP tuluyan nang inalis ng Kamara sa 2024 National Budget

Nagkasundo na ang Small Committee ng House Committee on Appropriations na pinamumunuan ni Congressman Elizaldy Co na alisin ang Confidential and Intelligence Fund o CIF ng Office of the Vice President o OVP.

Sinabi ng Appropriations Committee na maliban sa OVP inalis din ang hinihinging CIF ng Department of Education o DEPED, Department of Agriculture o DA, Department of Information and Communications Technology o DICT at Department of Foreign Affairs o DFA.

Ang inalis na CIF ng OVP, DepEd, DA, DICT at DFA ay idinagdag sa CIF ng National Intelligence Coordinating Agency o NICA, National Security Council o NSC, Philippine Coast Guard o PCG at Armed Forces of the Philippines o AFP.

Nauna ng napagpasiyahan sa plenary deliberations ng 2024 proposed National Budget bill na tanging ang mga ahensiya ng pamahalaan na may kaugnyan sa National Security ang bibigyan ng CIF.
