ASEAN maglalabas ng statement sa bakbakan sa pagitan ng Israel at Hamas; Israeli military kinontra ang panawagan ng ceasefire
Wala pang pahayag sa ngayon ang gobyerno ng Pilipinas at Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) sa nangyaring pag-atake sa isang ospital sa Gaza City na ikinamatay ng daan-daang sibilyan.
Isinisi ng Hamas sa Israel ang nangyaring air strike.
Pero ang Israeli military itinuro ang palpak na rocket launch ng Islamic Jihad terror group na tumama sa ospital.
Ayon kay Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro, hindi pa sila makapaglabas ng pahayag sa insidente dahil ito ay bagong pangyayari pa lang at nag-iingat sila.
Pero bumubuo na aniya ang ASEAN kung saan kasama ang Pilipinas ng pahayag sa mga patuloy na kaguluhan kabilang na ang hospital attack.
“The policy issue this is a concern not only of us the philippines but even the whole of asean in fact the ASEAN will come up with a statement i don’t know within the day or tomorrow on this issue of humanitarian law so yes that is a concern that will be hopefully be conveyed” pahayag ni DFA Usec Ma. Theresa Lazaro.
Ang Indonesia aniya bilang ASEAN chair ang nag-initiate para maglabas ng pahayag sa mga pangyayari.
Aminado ang DFA na hindi madali na mag-isyu ng pahayag sa nasabing insidente.
“It’s very hard right now to make a definitive statement because of the situation the political part the diplomatic part is also being discussed simultaneously” patuloy pa na pahayag ni Lazaro.
Hindi rin masagot ng DFA official kung ang ASEAN statement ba ay magiging pagkondena sa pag-atake sa Gaza hospital.
“It is a statement and the condemnation part I’m trying to recall the draft is still moving but the condemnation issue it will be limited to the terrorism and violence” saad pa ni Lazaro
Sinabi naman ng DFA na inaasahan na matatalakay din ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa mga kapwa lider nito sa 2023 ASEAN- Gulf Cooperation Council Summit sa Saudi Arabia ang isyu ng Israel- Hamas conflict.
Samantala, kinontra ng Israeli Defense Forces ang panawagan na ceasefire.
Iginiit ng IDF na ang pagresponde nila ay makatwiran sa ginawang pagpaslang sa mga sibilyan sa Israel at gagawin din ito ng ibang bansa na nasa parehong sitwasyon
