Budget ng hudikatura sa 2025 hiniling ng Korte Suprema sa Senado na dagdagan ng P12-B
Isinalang na sa Senate Finance Committee ang panukalang budget ng hudikatura para sa 2025.
Dumalo sa budget hearing ang ilang mahistrado ng Korte Suprema, Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan at Court of Tax Appeals.
Ayon kay Court Administrator Raul Villanueva, kabuuang P84.39 billion ang ipinanukala nilang 2025 budget ng mga korte sa bansa.

Pero sa 2025 National Expenditure Program, ang judiciary budget ay ibinaba sa P63.57 billion.
Kabilang aniya sa mga pangunahing pupuntahan ng budget ay para sa mga reporma sa hudikatura na nasa P6.49 billion, at para sa konstruksyon ng halls of justice na mahigit P660 million.
Kaugnay nito, hiniling ng hudikatura na irekonsidera ng Senado na dagdagan ng P12 billion ang panukalang pondo nito, na karamihan ay para sa personnel services at maintenance at operating expenditures.
Sinabi ni Villanueva, “Out of 20.8 billion excluded from the proposed 2025 judiciary budget, we ask to be included to be reconsidered the total amount of 12.53 billion. We are asking for funding for these 15 regional court managers offices and various position nationwide.”
Ipinagmalaki naman ng opisyal na pataas nang pataas ang disposition rate ng mga kaso ng mga korte, o marami ang nareresolbang mga kaso at kumakaunti na ang bilang ng pending na mga kaso sa tulong ng mga reporma at mga panuntunan, na inisyu para mapabilis ang court procedures.
Ayon kay Villanueva, “Your honor, we are disposing more cases on an annual basis as compared to the number of cases that are being filed. The case load for the entire first and second level courts has decreased already in 2023, the entire case load for the whole court is 616,538 and in 2024 as of June, this has been reduced to 590, 223.”
Inihayag pa sa budget hearing na gumagamit na ang hudikatura ng artificial intelligence (AI) para sa legal research at voice to text translation.
Ikinokonsidera rin ng Korte Suprema ang AI para sa pagmonitor ng mga kaso at sa pagbuo ng mga desisyon.

Pero siniguro ni SC Justice Mario Lopez na hindi nakadepende ang mga hukuman sa AI sa paglalabas ng desisyon.
Ani Lopez, “In fact, there are some decisions which should not be left to the control of the AI because the court is not only a courts of law, but we are also a courts of equity. The human mind is still better. The humanity will still prevail than AI.”
