Batay sa pahayag ng Department of Justice (DOJ), “The Department of Justice is extremely grateful to Timor Leste for ruling again in favor of the extradition request of the Philippines to bring back home Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves, Jr., to face the murder charges lodged against him before a Manila court for the killing of former Governor Raul Degamo and several others.”

Nakasaad pa sa pahayag ng DOJ, “Fortunately, the judicial system of Timor Leste Court has been consistent with the tenets of fair play and justice considering the positive development in this case.”

“To reiterate, the Philippine government as a party in this case, highly commends the legal process of Timor Leste for displaying the efficiency of their justice system.”
