Nagsara ang isang sikat na Hello Kitty-themed amusement park sa Japan nitong Sabado, makaraang makatanggap ng isang “terror threat” sa email.
Ang Sanrio Puroland sa Tokyo ay sikat dahil sa kanilang rides, mga show at cute na cartoon mascots kabilang si Hello Kitty.
Sa isang mensahe sa kanilang website ay nakasaad, “We decided to temporarily close for the day because the safety of visitors, performers and staff cannot be guaranteed at the moment. Today, Saturday, February 24, 2024, we received an email threatening terrorism.”

Ayon sa public broadcaster na NHK, sinusubukan na ng mga awtoridad na kilalanin ang nagpadala ng email, banggit ang mga hindi pinangalanang source mula sa pulisya.
Ang pink-bowed Hello Kitty character ay nilikha ng Tokyo-based Sanrio noong 1974, at binuksan naman ang Sanrio Puroland theme park sa Tama City, Tokyo noong 1990.
Ang terror threat at ang pagsasara ng parke, ay ikinadismaya ng marami, kung saan may nagsabing nakaiinis na nataon pa ito sa tatlong araw na weekend.
