Israeli military iginiit na sinusunod nito ang international laws sa pag-atake sa Hamas
Alinsunod sa mga international law sa giyera ang mga military action ng Israel laban sa Hamas.
Ayon kay Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesperson Major Libby Weiss, sinusunod ng Israel ang mga batas ukol sa armadong pakikibaksa sa lahat ng kanilang mga pag-atake laban sa Hamas.
“We are making efforts to minimize as much as possible the impact on civilians serves as another example of what we’re trying to do and everything what we’re doing here is of course is in accordance with international law.” pahayag ni Major Libby Weiss
Kaugnay nito, iginiit ng IDF na hindi kailanman naging target ng Israel ang mga sibilyan sa Gaza Strip kundi ang Hamas.
Ayon kay Weiss, ang pagbibigay nila ng babala sa civilian population sa Northern Gaza para lumikas ay patunay na hindi nila nais na mapahamak ang mga ito.
“The goals of the IDF right now are against Hamas. There is absolutely nothing here against the population of Gaza, the civilian population of Gaza which is why the IDF provided a warning telling people in the northern Gaza Strip to evacuate to move towards the southern end of the Gaza Strip to go to south of the Gaza river. This is a warning that we gave several days ago and a warning that still stands.” patuloy pa na pahayag ni Weiss
Binigyang-diin pa ng IDF official na ang Hamas ang may responsibilidad para pangalagaan ang kapakanan ng mga tao sa Gaza dahil sila ang gobyerno doon.
Pero ang Hamas pa aniya mismo ang nagnanakaw ng mga pumapasok na langis at iba pang suplay sa Gaza na para sana sa mga sibilyan.
Nilinaw pa ng IDF na hindi ang Israel ang pangunahing nagsu-suplay ng tubig sa Gaza Strip.
“I think for very obvious reasons we cannot supply the terrorists who butchered our people with the resources they need to continue planning attacks against Israelis. I think this is the question for Hamas to understand how they support the people within the Gaza Strip. They need to answer these questions. They are the sovereign power there.” giit pa ni Weiss
