Kabul airport, muli nang binuksan

WASHINGTON, United States (AFP) – Sinabi ng isang US General na muli nang binuksan ang Kabul airport sa Afghanistan, matapos ilang oras na isara ng US forces kasunod ng isang security breakdown sa tarmac, na nakaantala sa evacuation operations.

Ayon kay Major General Hank Taylor, isang logistics specialist sa Joint Chiefs of Staff ng Pentagon, muling binuksan ang paliparan alas-7:35 kagabi (oras sa Afghanistan).

Aniya . . . “The United States was in-charge of air traffic control at Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA) for military and commercial flights.”

Sinabi pa ni Taylor na nasa 25,000 US troops ang nasa Kabul para tumulong sa pag-organisa ng paglilikas sa libu-libong Amerikano at Afghans na nagtatrabaho sa kanila bilang translators at iba pa.

Ayon sa Pentagon, ang paliparan ay isinara kahapon matapos sumugod sa runways ang daan-daang Afghan civilians na tinangkang pigilan ang pag-takeoff ng isa sa mga eroplano ng US.
