Novak Djokovic, nakakuha ng vaccine exemption para makapaglaro sa Australian Open
Nakakuha ng isang medical exemption si Novak Djokovic para sa pagbabakuna laban sa Covid-19, upang makapaglaro sa 2022 Australian Open.
Ayon kay Djokovic . . . “I’ve spent fantastic quality time with my loved ones over the break and today I’m heading down under with an exemption permission. Let’s go 2022.”
Ang 2022 Australian Open na unang Grand Slam tournament sa annual tennis calendar, ay mula Jan. 17-30 sa Melbourne.
Si Djokovic ay nagwagi na ng tatlong men’s singles titles sa event.
Una nang sinabi ng sikat na tennis player, na hindi siya siguradong makalalahok sa Grand Slam dahil sa quarantine rules ng Australia kung saan ang mga participant ay dapat bakunado na o mayroong medical exemption mula sa isang independent panel of experts.
Sinabi ng Tennis Australia na si Djokovic ay patungo na sa Australia.
Ayon sa statement ng Tennis Australia . . . “Djokovic applied for a medical exemption which was granted following a rigorous review process involving two separate independent panels of medical experts. One of those was the Independent Medical Exemption Review Panel appointed by the Victorian Department of Health. They assessed all applications to see if they met the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization guidelines.”
Si Djokovic ay ka-tie ng No. 16 na si Roger Federer ng Switzerland at No. 6 na si Rafael Nadal ng Spain para sa may pinakamaraming Grand Slam singles titles sa kasaysayan ng men’s tennis. Silang tatlo ay kapwa mayroon nang tig-20.
