PBBM bibigyan ng advise ng Kamara sa pagpapatupad ng Maharlika Investment Fund Law
Walang magagawa ang Kongreso sa desisyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na suspendihin muna ang implementasyon ng Maharlika Investment Fund Law.
Ito ang inihayag ni Congressman Joey Salceda Chairman ng House Committee on Ways and Means at chairman ng Technical Working Group para sa pagbuo ng Implenting Rules and Regulations o IRR ng Maharlika Investment Fund Law.
Ayon kay Salceda kung mayroong nakitang problema sa IRR ng Maharlika Investment Fund Law maaari itong resolbahin ng Pangulo.
Inihayag ng mambabatas na bilang chairman ng Technical Working Group sa pagbuo ng IRR ng Maharlika Investment Law ay papayuhan niya ang Pangulo hinggil sa legislative intent ng batas.
Umaasa ang Kamara na sa sandaling maisabatas ang Private Public Partnership Code na susuporta sa Maharlika Investment Fund Law ay papasok ang mga direct investment para sa mga development projects sa taong 2024.

“That is the President’s exercise of Executive discretion well within his power. The letter of the law will still be followed without exception. But the IRR should anticipate future issues. If he sees issues in Executive branch’s IRR draft, he can resolve them. Better to do so before full implementation.
In any case, I will provide advice to the Executive branch on our legislative intent, as TWG Chair for drafting the measure.
We are still on track to get the ball rolling by the end of this year. With the PPP Code to be enacted this year, I also expect very direct investments in development projects in 2024.
Don’t overthink this. It’s the Executive Branch working things among themselves, as is proper at this stage of the law’s implementation.
