Priscilla Presley, nahirapang panoorin ang biopic na “Priscilla”

Sinabi ni Priscilla Presley, na nahirapan siyang panoorin ang bagong pelikula tungkol sa kaniyang buhay may-asawa.
Tinulungan niya ang direktor nito na si Sofia Coppola sa panahon ng produksiyon ng pelikula, at sinamahan ang cast at crew para sa world premiere ng “Priscilla” sa Venice Film Festival.
Ayon kay Priscilla, “Sofia did an amazing job, she did her homework. But it’s very difficult to sit and watch a film about you, about your life and your love.”
Ikinuwento niya ang tungkol sa kontrobersiyal na agwat ng edad nila ni Elvis nang una silang magkakilala noong 1959, sa panahon ng military service sa Germany ng rock’n’roll legend noong siya ay 14-anyos pa lamang at ito naman ay 24.
Sinabi ng 78-anyos na ngayong si Priscilla, “People think it was sex — I never had sex with him (at that stage). He was very kind, very soft, very loving, but he also respected the fact that I was 14-years-old.”
Muli silang nagkaroon ng ugnayan ni Elvis sa US tatlong taon makalipas at tuluyan nang nagpakasal noong 1967.
Kuwento pa nito, “I was really more of a listener, he would pour his heart out to me, his fears, his hopes, the loss of his mother that he never got over. I don’t know why he put so much trust in me but he did.”
Bida sa pelikula bilang Priscilla si Cailee Spaeny na naging tampok din sa “Mare of Easttown,” at Jacob Elordi bilang Elvis, na sumikat bilang heartthrob sa Netflix show na “Euphoria.”
Ang biopic ay tungkol sa malimit ay masalimuot na relasyon ni Priscilla at Elvis hanggang sa kanilang paghihiwalay noong 1972.
Sinabi ng direktor na si Coppola, “It’s a human story. She goes through all the things that all girls go through growing up… but in this very unusual setting.”
Sa kabila ng kanilang paghihiwalay, sinabi ni Priscilla, “Elvis remained “the love of my life.” It was the lifestyle that was difficult for me. We were still very close.”
Ang “Priscilla” ay isa sa 23 mga pelikula na nakikipaglaban para sa Golden Lion sa Venice, na ang mananalo ay ihahayag na sa Sabado.
