Hindi bababa sa 119 katao ang namatay sa lindol na tumama sa isang liblib na lugar sa Nepal, nitong nakalipas na magdamag.
Ang 5.6-magnitude na lindol ay tumama sa malayong kanluran ng Himalayan country at nasukat ng US Geological Survey sa lalim na 18 kilometro (11 milya).
Makikita sa mga video at larawang napost sa social media ang mga residente na naghuhukay sa mga guho sa gitna ng dilim upang makuha ang mga nakaligtas mula sa gumuhong mga bahay at gusali.
Ang pagyanig ay naramdaman din hanggang sa New Delhi, kapitolyo ng India, halos 500 kilometro mula sa sentro, 42 kilometro sa timog ng Jumla.
Sinabi ni Karnali Province police spokesman Gopal Chandra Bhattarai, “The death toll has reached 119 and at least 100 have been injured. The remoteness of the districts makes it difficult for information to get through.”
Aniya, “Nepali security forces had been deployed extensively to assist with search and rescue operations. Some roads had been blocked by damage, but we are trying to reach the area through alternate routes.”

Iniulat naman ng Indian social media users na ang lindol ay naramdaman maging sa northern cities ng Lucknow at Patna.
Ilang oras makalipas, ang naunang pagyanig ay sinundan ng isang aftershock sa kaparehong lugar na may 4.0 magnitude, ayon sa USGS.
