Senador Richard Gordon, binuweltahan ni PRRD sa pagiging chairman ng Phil. Red Cross
Binanatan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Senador Richard Dick Gordon sa pagiging Chairman ng Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
Sa Talk to the People, sinabi ng Pangulo na ginagamit lamang ni Senador Gordon ang PRC para sa kanyang sariling kapakanan upang isulong ang interes sa pulitika.
Ayon sa Pangulo, maraming ginawang pagsasamantala si Gordon gamit ang kanyang posisyon sa PRC.
Binanggit ng Pangulo ang panggigipit ni Gordon sa gobyerno dahil sa dami ng mga tinatamaan ng COVID-19 ay lumobo ang utang ng pamahalaan at nagbanta ang Senador na ititigil ang ginagawang mass testing kung hindi babayaran ang utang sa Red Cross.
Inihayag pa ng Pangulo na walang konsiderasyon si Gordon dahil ayaw bigyan ng Red Cross ng diskuwentong 20 porsiyento na naaayon sa batas ang mga senior citizen na sumasailalim sa RT- PCR swab test.
Hiniling ng Pangulo sa Commission on Audit na bigyan ng kopya ang Executive Department ng audit report sa PRC para magkaroon ng kuwentas klaras sa mga akitibidad ng Red Cross na may kaugnayan sa pera.
Statement PRRD:
“Ulitin ko, iyong ginawa mo, you threatened government that you will stop, you stop testing people so that they will die just because you are not paid and the money that you have accumulated all these years would run into billions at ang gusto kong makita ‘yung audit talaga ng totoo ng Red Cross“.
And maybe I can — I will demand, the executive department will demand that we be furnished copies of your audit taken by COA, and COA to give us the copy so that we can review also what you have audited at tingnan ba namin kung tama o hindi.Mas mabuti na ‘yang ganoon. Let us be open to everybody. You open your books and I open mine. And you can read all what is entered there, and I also examine what you have done so that it will be a fair scheme for everybody. Iyan lang ang gusto ko tanungin“.
Eh kasi ito si Gordon nagmamalinis eh. Akala mo walang ginawang — plenty. We will start also with your record as a public official. Plenty. Iyang Red Cross na ‘yan I think that you would not be even be able to explain sa totoo lang.If there is an honest-to-goodness examination of the book of records and the audit of the past years and we will review if it reflected really the real actuations of you and the others there in the Red Cross, I’m sure that we will find something and we believe that you are also guilty of — well, sabihin mo ng malversation. Well, tell us. We would glad — we would be happy to know kung mayroon o wala. Salamat, Mr. Gordon“.
