Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program inilunsad ni PBBM sa Tondo, Maynila
Wala nang magugutom na Pilipino pagsapit ng 2028.
Ito ang pangarap ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa paglulunsad ng Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program (FSP) sa pilot kick-off nito sa Tondo, Maynila.
Sa kaniyang talumpati sinabi ng Pangulo na bahagi ito ng patuloy na pagsisikap ng kaniyang administrasyon para matamo ang hangarin na wala nang magugutom sa pagtatapos ng kaniyang administrasyon sa 2028.
“This is the continuing part of all that we have tried to do to achieve walang gutom, in English means no more hunger. That is the dream of this administration, that is what we are hoping to achieve by the end of 2028. We have done something to reduce hunger, poverty and provide good, healthy and productive life to our people,” pahayag pa ng Pangulo.
Aminado ang Pangulo na ang pagkagutom at malnutrisyon ang pangunahing balakid sa pag-unlad ng isang indibidwal at ng lipunan sa kabuuan.
“We have always tried to rise up from the throws of poverty but the problem of hunger and malnutrition still remains. And that’s why it has become the priority of this government that we will fight the poverty and we will put in all program so that one day we can say we were able to give our people at the very least the food that they need to survive, the nutrition they need to survive,” paliwanag pa ni Pangulong Marcos.
Dagdag pa ng Punong Ehekutibo na hindi lang sapat na magkaloob ng pagkain ang gobyerno kung masustansiyang pagkain para maging malusog ang buong komunidad.
Kuwento ng Pangulo agad na nai-set up ang programa dahil sa suporta na rin ng mga financial institutions gaya ng Asian Development Bank (ADB) at World Food Program (WFP).
Napapanahon din aniya ang programa lalo na at bumabangon pa ang bansa sa epekto ng COVID-19 pandemic.
“I cannot understand why this is the first time we talked about the food stamp program it seems to me, especially after the pandemic, it seems to me a particularly important initiative as we have seen the difficulties that we have had in term and pricing of agricultural commodities, in terms of the supply of agricultural commodities and not only commodities but food, so as to be able to provide the kind of nutrition that will make our children, that will make our people healthy and productive in their daily lives.”
Sa nasabing kick off activity, pinangunahan ni Pangulong Marcos, kasama sina Vice President Sara Duterte at Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian ang pamamahagi ng electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards sa sampung kinatawan mula sa 50 benepisyaryo sa Tondo, Maynila.
Popondohan ng Department of Social Welfare and Security (DSWD) ng P3,000 kada buwan ang EBT cards na gagamitin namang pambili ng food items sa mga DSWD registered or accredited retailers.
Bukod sa pilot launching sa Tondo, maglulunsad din ng Food Stamp Program ang DSWD sa iba pang rehiyon kabilang ang Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Western Visayas at CARAGA.
Target mapasimulan ang programa sa may 3,000 pamilya
