Labingtatlo katao kabilang ang isang Russian couple ang namatay sa mudslide sa Thai resort island ng Phuket.
Sinabi ni Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat, na ang malakas na mga pag-ulan noong nakaraang linggo ay nagdulot ng mga mudslide malapit sa Big Buddha, isang sikat na destinasyon ng turista sa timog ng Thailand.
Besides the Russians, nine of the dead were migrant workers from Myanmar and the other two were Thais, Sophon said. About 20 people were injured and 209 households were affected by the mudslide.
Ayon pa kay Sophon, bukod sa Russian couple, siyam sa mga namatay ay migrant workers mula sa Myanmar at ang dalawa ay Thai.
Nasa 20 katao naman ang nasugatan at 209 na mga bahay ang naapektuhan ng mudslide.
Dagdag pa ng gobernado, “A major cleanup is under way. The authorities were getting in touch with relatives and embassies of the victims.”
