Sa pambihirang pagkakataon, sinuportahan ni Senador Antonio Trillanes ang desisyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na maitalaga si AFP Chief of Staff General Eduardo Año bilang kalihim ng Department of Interior and Local Government.
Ayon kay Trillanes, welcome development ang hakbang na ito ni Pangulong Duterte.
Ang mga katulad aniya ni General Año ang kailangan ng bansa ngayon lalo na sa problema sa peace and order.
Hindi aniya matatawaran ang mga accomplishment ni General Año bilang military officer.
Taglay din ni Año ang mga katangian ng isang mahusay na lider na kailangan sa kanyang bagong tungkulin.
Pero hirit ni Trillanes, sana ay hindi ilaglag ng Pangulo si Año sa Commission on Appointments tulad ng ginawa kay Gina Lopez.
