Pagkakatalaga kay INC Executive Minister Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo bilang Special Envoy for Overseas Filipinos Concerns, inirekomenda ng DFA.
Mismong ang Department of Foreign Affairs ang nagrekomenda na italaga si Kapatid na Eduardo V. Manalo, Tagapamahalang Pangkalahatan ng Iglesia Ni CristO bilang Special Envoy of the President for Overseas Filipinos Concerns.
Ayon kay Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, nakita nila ang pagiging organisado at kapasidad ng Iglesia Ni Cristo para pangalagaan ang lahat ng mga Pilipino sa ibang bansa.
“One reason is they have churches in several countries around the world and Ka Eduardo is actually visiting many them anyone of you dealt with the INC church in the localities kung makikita nyo very organized whether member or non member. (kung may mag complain) they have a system where Tagapamahala in each kapilya have a liason with the government.”
Bahagi kasi aniya ng kampanya ng Duterte administration na maprotektahan ang interes hindi lang ng mga Overseas Filipino Workers, kundi ng lahat ng mga Pilipinong nakatira sa ibang bansa.
“To that system will benefit filipinos so that one reason that the DFA also recommneded and the president approved that”
Sinabi pa ni Cayetano na gaya sa ibang bansa, kasama na sa sistema ng DFA ang pagkuha o paghingi ng tulong ng mga Special Envoy para sa interes ng mga manggagawang pinoy at economic diplomacy.
“Special envoys whether it is for economic diplomacy for specific country. To China, Japan these are also employed by other countries. So basically it’s a support there are overlaps but basically in their private capacity covers with official they are able to multiply our efforts in the countries. Some of them are special connections for example, in Japan we wont put special envoy to Japan na walang particular attachment yung special envoy na yan to Japanese leaders whether its industry leaders or the govt.”
Naniniwala naman si Senador Cynthia Villar na mahalaga ang papel ng mga Special Envoy particular na ang kanilang diplomatic skills para tulungan lalo na ang mga distressed OFW.
Aniya, maganda ang relasyon ni Iglesia Ni Cristo Executive Minister Bro.Eduardo V. Manalo sa pangulo at maging ng mga OFW sa buong mundo.
Ayon sa senadora, isa itong pambihirang pagkakataon para makapagsilbi hindi lamang sa malawak na network ng Iglesia Ni Cristo kundi bilang Special Envoy for Overseas Filipino Concerns.
