Pagbili ng armas na Israeli-made para sa AFP, bahagi ng biyahe ni Pangulong Duterte -Malakanyang
Posibleng maging bahagi ng AFP modernization ang mga sopistikadong armas ng Israel. Ito’ y sa sandaling magkaruon ng negosasyon para sa pagbili ng hukbong sandatahan ng mga military equipment mula sa nasabing bansa.
Ayon kay Special Assistant to the President Secretry Bong Go, isa sa mga agenda ng official visit ng Pangulong Duterte ang makahanap ng kagamitan para sa AFP. Sinabi ni Secretary Go, nasa ikatlong yugto na ang modernisasyon ng Armed Forces of the Philippines na kung saan, ang pokus ng programa ay nasa external defense na.
Inihayag ni Secretary Go na bilang isang bansang kilalang gumagawa ng de kalidad na mga armas, malaki ang magiging papel ng Israel para mapalakas ang external power ng Philippine Army, Philippine Airlines Force at Philippine Navy. Kasama rin sa biyahe ng Pangulo ngayon sa Israel si Defense secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

“We are already in the third horizon of the modernization and the SND Secretary of National Defense is currently looking into the priorities, like the dual purpose equipment for the external defense of the Armed Forces, Air Force, Navy, and Army. One of President Duterte’s agenda in his official visit to Israel is to look for military equipment that could be purchased for the AFP”.
