Hindi pa man nagreretiro sa kanyang puwesto inanunsyo na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na si AFP Chief of Staff General Eduardo Ańo ang susunod na DILG Secretary.
Sinabi ng Pangulo sa kanyang media interview sa NAIA Terminal 2 patungong Cambodia na si General Ańo ang uupong DILG Secretary na kasalukuyang pinamumunuan ni OIC Secretary Catalino Cuy.
Si Ańo ay magreretiro sa serbisyo sa militar sa Oktubre ng taong kasalukuyan.
