Appointments ng 15 DFA, 86 AFP officials, lusot na sa CA
Inaprubahan ng makapangyarihang Commission on Appointments (CA) ang ad interim appointment ng 15 opisyal ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), kabilang na ang Embahador ng bansa sa New Zealand.
Walang tumutol sa appointment ni Ambassador Kira Azucena bilang head of mission ng bansa sa New Zealand na may hurisdiksyon din sa Fiji at the Cook Islands.
Sinabi ni Senador Jinggoy Estrada na nag-sponsor sa appointment ng diplomat, makakatulong ang mga Embahador para isulong ang interes ng Pilipinas sa mga bansa sa buong mundo.
“They have been at the frontlines of diplomacy – from securing the much needed COVID-19 vaccines, facilitating the immediate repatriation and extension of legal assistance for our distressed migrant workers, and the promotion of our proud heritage and rich culture before the world,” pahayag ni Estrada.
Bukod kay Ambassador Azucena, lusot na rin sa CA ang ad interim appointment nina:
- Henry Bensurto Jr. – Ambassador to Turkiye
- Raul Hernandez – Ambassador to Oman
- Renato Villa – Ambassador to Saudi Arabia
- Josel Ignacio – Ambassador to India
- Maria Angela Ponce – Ambassador to Malaysia
- Carlos Sorreta – Philippine Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland
Inaprubahan din ng CA ang promosyon ng 86 na mga opisyal ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Sinabi ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri naging produktibo ang CA sa first regular session ng 19th Congress.
Patunay aniya rito ang pag-apruba ng CA sa appointment at promotion ng nasa 597 na mga opisyal ng gobyerno.
20 sa mga naaprubahan ng CA ay mga Cabinet Secretary, 452 na mga opisyal ng AFP, 119 na mga Embahador at opisyal ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), isa sa Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) at 5 sa mga Constitutional Commission.
“Sa sobrang sipag po ninyo, palagi pong na-a-apektuhan ang schedule ng session dito sa Senado! Kaya muli, maraming salamat po at maayos nating nagampanan ang ating mga tungkulin bilang tagasuri ng mga appointees at nominees na isinasalang dito sa Commission on Appointments,” pahayag pa ni Zubiri.
