Carlo Paalam, binati ng Malakanyang sa pagkakapanalo ng silver medal sa Tokyo Olympics
Nagpaabot ng pagbati ang Malakanyang kay Carlo Paalam na nagwagi ng silver medal sa boxing sa Tokyo Olympics.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Secretary Harry Roque na ipinagmamalaki ng sambayanang Filipino ang silver medal na nakuha ni Paalam.
Ayon kay Roque, magsisilbing inspirasyon sa mga kabataang Pinoy ang landas na tinahak ni Paalam tungo sa kanyang tagumpay sa Olympics.
Inihayag ni Roque ipinakita ng koponan ng Pilipinas sa Tokyo Olympics ang napakagandang performance dahil nasungkit ang kauna-unahang gold medal sa pamamagitan ni Hidilyn Diaz, dalawang silver medal mula kina Paalam at Nesthy Petecio at bronze medal sa pamamagitan ni Eumir Marcial.
Pinasalamatan ng Malakanyang ang lahat ng atletang Pinoy na sumabak sa Tokyo Olympics sa gitna ng Pandemya ng COVID-19 dahil ibinuhos ang buong lakas at makakaya at naging matagumpay ang kampanya ng bansa sa gintong medalya na inasam sa loob ng 97 taon.
