Comelec Advisory Council, muling binuo kasabay ng nalalapit na 2022 elections
Bilang paghahanda para sa 2022 National and Local elections, muling binuo ang Comelec Advisory Council.
Ang advisory body na ito ay binubuo ng siyam na miyembro.
Sa ilalim ng batas, ang tatayong De Facto Chairman nito ay ang kalihim ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) habang ang magiging mga myembro ay mula naman sa hanay ng Academe, Non-Government Electoral reform organizations, ICT professional organizations, at mga piling government agencies.
Dahil rito, si DICT Sec. Gregorio Honasan II ang magsisilbing chairman ng Comelec Advisory Council.
Magiging katuwang naman niya bilang mga myembro sina DOST Usec. Brenda Nazareth-Manzano at DepEd Usec. Alain Pascua bilang kinatawan ng Gobyerno, Dr. Jan Michael Yap ng University of the Philippines bilang kinatawan ng Academe, Isabelita Ojeda ng ISACA Manila Chapter, Atty. Samuel Matunogas ng National ICT Confederation of the Philippines, at Jonathan de Luzuriaga ng Philippine Software Industry Association bilang kinatawan ng ICT organization, at Dr Emmanuel Yu ng Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting at Angel Averia Jr. ng National Citizens Movement for Free Elections bilang kinatawan ng Non-government Electoral reform organizations.
Sa ilalim ng RA 9369 o ang Automated Election Law, mandato ng Comelec Advisory Council na magrekomenda ng secure at cost effective technology na gagamitin para sa automated election system.
Tungkulin rin nito na magbigay ng payo at assistance sa Comelec sa mga bagay na maaaring makaapekto sa automated election system.
