Tiniyak ng Malacañang na mananagot sa batas ang sinumang opisyal ng pamahalaan na may kasong korapsyon.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo na walang kaibigan at kalaban kung ang pag-uusapan ay kaso ng katiwalian.
Ayon kay Panelo ang rekomendasyon ng National Bureau of Investigation o NBI sa Department of Justice o DOJ na sampahan ng kasong graft si dating Customs Commissioner at ngayon ay TESDA Director General Isidro Lapeña ay kahayagan lamang na walang sinisino ang Duterte administration sa kampanya laban sa korapsyon.
Inihayag ni Panelo hanggat hindi napatitibayan ang akusasyon kay lapeña sa ilalim ng due process itinuturing parin siyang inosente.
