Dating Pangulong Duterte bibigyang-gawad sa pagsusulong ng PHL-China understanding
Bibigyang gawad sina dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at at Manila Times columnist Rigoberto Tiglao dahil sa pagsusulong nila sa promosyon at pang-unawa sa relasyon ng Pilipinas at China.
Sa anunsyo ng Association of Philippines-China Understanding (APCU) at ng Embahada ng China sa bansa, tinukoy sina Duterte at Tiglao na kabilang sa anim na recipients ng 2023 Awards for Promoting Philippines-China Understanding (APPCU).
Kinilala si Duterte bilang APPCU Hall of Fame awardee kasama si dating special envoy to China, Carlos Chan.
Ipagkakaloob naman ang APPCU “Outstanding Contributions” category kina Tiglao, na nagsilibi rin dati bilang Ambassador ng bansa sa Greece at Cyprus, at Dr. Jaime Cruz, dati ring special envoy to China.
Sa “Major Contributions” category, kinilala sina Regina Rosa Tecson, director ng satellite office ni Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio sa Davao City, at Jose Ong Tajan, dating chairman ng Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Baguio City.
“APPCU pays special tribute to Filipinos who have made efforts through time to strengthen friendly ties and promote mutual understanding between the Philippines and China using their respective advocacies and expertise in the various fields and disciplines of mass media, public service, trade and commerce, arts, culture, and the sciences,” pahayag ng APCU sa isang statement.
“Their works’ prestige and endeavors in promoting and strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding between the Philippines and China are essentially the basis for selecting them as APPCU Laureates for 2023,” ayon pa sa APCU.
Nakatakda namang ipagkaloob ang gawad sa anim na awardees sa isang seremonya na isasagawa sa June 8, 2023.
