DFA, kinastigo ang patuloy na”misrepresentation”ng Tsina ukol sa South China Sea
Kinontra ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang “continued misrepresentation” o ang patuloy na pagsisinungaling ng Tsina kaugnay sa South China Sea.
Kasunod ito ng pahayag ni Chinese Consul General Zhang Zhen sa Iloilo City na ilegal at walang bisa ang 2016 Arbitral Ruling sa South China Sea.
Sa pahayag ni DFA Spokesperson Ma. Teresita Daza “We note the statement made by the Chinese Consul General last 08 February 2024. We take serious exception to China’s continued misrepresentation of the law and the facts.”
Sinabi ni Daza na parehong partido ang China at Pilipinas sa United Nations on Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
Ayon pa kay Daza, patuloy na mananawagan ang DFA sa Tsina na sundin ang mga obligasyon at responsableng umakto alinsunod sa UNCLOS at sa 2016 Arbitral.
“We have and will consistently call on China to act responsibly and abide by its obligations under UNCLOS and the final and binding 2016 Arbitral Award on the South China Sea” ani Daza.
