Diamond bracelets ni Marie-Antoinette, ipagbibili sa Geneva
Nakatakdang i-auction sa Geneva ang dalawang diamond bracelets na pag-aari ng reyna ng Pransya na si Marie-Antoinette.
Ayon sa Christie’s auction house, ang bracelets na bawat isa ay mayroong 112 diamonds na magkasamang ibibenta, ay tinatayang maipagbibili sa pagitan ng $2 – $4 million sa sandaling i-auction na ito sa November 9.
Ayon kay Marie-Cecile Cisamolo, jewellery specialist ng Christie’s . . . “That estimate includes not only the intrinsic value of the diamonds, but also the possibility to wear jewellery that once worn by the famous queen Mari-Antoinette.”
Sinabi naman ni Francois Curiel, chairman ng Christie’s luxury division . . . “As seen in recent Geneva sales, the market for jewels of noble provenance continues to perform extremely well.”
Sa kabuuan, ang dalawang bracelets na may 140-150 carats batay sa pagtaya ng Christie’s ay binubuo ng tatlong rows na maaaring pagdugtung-dugtungin at isuot bilang kuwintas.
Dagdag pa ni Cisamolo . . . “It was not just their history that made the bracelets extraordinary. It is very difficult to measure the exact size of the diamonds which range from around one to four carats, because there are antique diamonds and back then the sizes were less precise.”
Ayon sa Christie’s, inorder ni Marie-Antoinette ang mga bracelet mula sa jeweller na si Charles August Boehmer sa Paris noong 1776, dalawang taon makaraang siya ay maging reyna.
Sinabi pa ni Cisamolo . . . “I hoped whoever bought them will cherish them for the rest of their life. Not only are you wearing something that Marie-Antoinette wore, the diamonds are extraordinary. The bracelets flow as though you are wearing fabric.”
