DOH iniimbestigahan na ang napaulat na tampering ng expiration date ng face shield galing sa Pharmally
Iniimbestigahan na ng Department of Health ang ulat na tampering umano ng manufacturing dates sa face shields na binili mula sa Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng DOH na nire-review na nila ang kanilang mga naging procurement transaction kasama na ang mga kasalukuyang naka-stock at paparating pa lamang na Personal Protective Equipment na nabili sa Pharmally direkta man o sa pamamagitan ng Procurement Service ng Department of Budget and Management.
Matatandaang sa pagdinig ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, sinabi ni Pharmally executive Krizle Grace Mago na binago nila ang expiration dates ng mga face shield na idineliver sa DOH.
Ang Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation ang nanalo sa ginawang bidding para sa kontrata ng face shield sa DOH, bukod pa sa procurement mula sa Procurement Service ng DBM.
Iginiit ng DOH na ang procurement para sa face shield ay dumaan sa mahigpit na bidding process kung saan ang bawat isa sa 8 prospective bidders ay nagsumite ng mga presyo ng kanilang face shields noong March 2021.
Ayon sa DOH, aabot sa mahigit 500,000 piraso ng face shield ang naideliver na ng Pharmally.
Pero ayon sa DOH, hindi pa nila nababayaran ang Pharmally dahil hindi pa nito nakukumpleto ang delivery ng mga face shield.
Ayon kay DOH Usec. Charade Mercado-Grande, minamadali na nila ang imbestigasyon at kung mapapatunayan na may tampered rito ay handa silang gumawa ng legal na hakbang.
Tiniyak ng opisyal na bago ipinadadala sa mga health worker ang biniling gamit ng DOH ay dumadaan muna ito sa inspeksyon.
Health Usec. Charade Mercado-Grande:
“We are fast-tracking our investigation on the face shields delivered to the DOH and if those are the ones being referred to in the Senate hearing. If the face shields are proven to be tampered with, we would definitely take necessary legal remedies. The DOH assures that prior to sending out any procured items for use by our healthcare workers, these are duly inspected. Likewise, health facilities have to inspect, count, and verify the items they received from the DOH”.
Sinabi ni Grande na hindi na muna tatanggap ang DOH ng delivery ng mga face shield mula sa Pharmally habang hindi pa tapos ang kanilang ginagawang imbestigasyon.
“The DOH has decided to suspend acceptance and further deliveries of face shields from Pharmally, pending the conclusion of the investigations in the Department. We are aware of the statements made by Pharmally employees about the tampering of the production date on the certificate. Out of prudence and caution, the DOH has decided to suspend the succeeding deliveries to protect the interest and safety of our healthcare workers“.
Tiniyak naman ng DOH ang mas mahigpit na inspeksyon sa kanilang mga binibiling supply para masiguro ang kalidad nito.
