DOJ iginiit na hindi polisiya ng bansa ang red- tagging
Nanindigan ang Department of Justice (DOJ) na walang polisiya ang pamahalaan ng Red-tagging.
Isa ang isyu ng red- tagging sa mga tinanong ni UN Special Rapporteur Irene Khan sa pakikipag-dayalogo nito sa mga opisyal ng DOJ.
Tiniyak din ni Justice Undersecretary Hermogenes Andres Jr. kay Khan na handa ang DOJ na isulong ang mga kaso laban sa mga tauhan ng pamahalaan o sinuman na mapapatunayang dawit sa red- tagging.
“We explained that there is no policy of red tagging from this government. If there were individual cases that need to be addressed where red tagging happened, we will ask all of the complainants and the evidence we brought for with the DOJ, and we will pursue appropriate cases against those involved in the red tagging.”pahayag ni Justice Undersecretary Hermogenes Andres Jr.
Ipinaliwanag din ng DOJ sa UN special rapporteur na may sapat na mekanismo ang gobyerno para matugunan ang nasabing isyu.
Samantala, nilinaw din ng kagawaran kay Khan na hindi lahat ng kaso nang pagpaslang sa mga mamamahayag ay may direktang kaugnayan sa propesyon nito o kaya ay pagsikil sa kalayaan sa pamamahayag.
“What we have discovered is, while there are media personalities involved, the reason behind their death are really personal vendetta or money controversy, money issues or even, you know love triangle.
