Higit 38 milyong halaga ng smuggled cigarettes, nasabat ng Customs sa MICP
Nasa 1,090 master cases ng iba’t-ibang brand ng sigarilyo na nagkakahalaga ng 38.1 milyong piso ang naharang ng Bureau of Customs sa Manila International Container Port (MICP).
Ayon sa BOC, naka-consign ang kargamento sa Green Nature Alliance Ventures.
Dahil sa intelligence information ng Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) ng MICP, nagpalabas ng Pre-Lodgement control order si MICP District Collector Romeo Allan R. Rosales.
Isinailalim ang shipment sa 100% physical examination ng Formal Entry Division (FED), ng mga miyembro ng Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) at CIIS.
Nagpalabas na rin ang mga otoridad ng warrant dahil sa paglabag sa Customs Modernization at Tariff Act (CMTA) at National Tobacco Authority (NTA) Law and Regulations.
