Magna Carta for PNP o dagdag na benepisyo para sa mga uniformed personnel, isinusulong ni Senador Sonny Angara
Isinulong ni Senador Sonny Angara ang panukalang batas na mabigyan pa ng mas malaking allowance at mga benepisyo ang lahat ng mga uniformed personnel ng Philippine National Police o PNP.
Sa harap ito ng umano’y iregularidad sa paggamit ng 59.8 million pesos na allowance at hazard pay na hindi naibigay sa mga tauhan ng PNP-Special Action force o SAF.
Sa Senate bill 138, o Magna carta for PNP ni Angara, obligadong magbigay ng cost of living allowance, clothing, quarters at subsistence allowance sa mga pulis kasama na ang kanilang leave at retirement programs.
Ang mga pulis na ipadadala sa mga delikadong assignment o mga remote areas gaya ng peacekeeping, crime prevention at investigation activities, kailangang bgyan rin ng remote assignment allowance tulad ng combat pay sa Armed Forces of the Philippines o PNP.
Sinabi ni Angara na layon ng panukala na bigyan ng bigyan ng pagkilala at dignidad ang police force at hindi na rin masangkot sa isyu ng pangongotong o korapsyon.
Sen. Angara:
“This Magna Carta seeks to put dignity into the country’s premiere police force. The government should provide support to foster a highly efficient and competent PNP. It’s the least we can do as they put their lives at stake in their commitment to preserve peace and order and protect the lives of Filipino people”.
