Mga wildlife species na isinilid sa pakete ng mga laruan, nasabat ng Customs sa Pasay city
Naharang ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port sa NAIA at Wildlife Traffic Monitoring Unit (WTMU) ng Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR) ang pakete na naglalaman ng iba’t-ibang uri ng wildlife species sa bodega ng Fedex sa Pasay city.
Arestado rin ang claimant ng package.
Ayon sa BOC, ang pakete ay nagmula sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at nakadeklara bilang Lego toys.
Pero sa pagsusuri ng mga otoridad, natuklasan na naglalaman ito ng 20 sulcata tortoise, 10 razorback turtle, isang head red bearded dragon, 2 heads ng corn snake at 8 savanna lizard heads.
Nahaharap ang claimant at lahat ng sangkot sa kasong Illegal Importation of Wildlife species sa ilalim ng Section 1113, Section 117 at 1401 ng RA 10863 o “Customs Modernization and Tariff Act” at Section 27 ng RA 9147 o Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.
