MMC, magpupulong ngayong gabi para paghandaan ang pagsasailalim ng Metro Manila sa ECQ
Magpupulong ngayong gabi ang Metro Manila Mayors para talakayin ang mga gagawing hakbang at ipatutupad na patakaran habang may umiiral na Enhanced Community Quarantine sa Metro Manila.
Sinabi ni MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos na nagpapasalamat sila sa Inter-Agency Task Force na pinakinggan ang kanilang rekomendasyon na magpatupad ng mas mahigpit na patakaran dahil sa pinangangambahang pagkalat ng Delta variant ng Covid-19.
Naninindigan aniya ang mga alkalde na mas matindi ang panganib ngayon dahil mabilis na nakakahawa ang Delta variant at hindi sapat ang kasalukuyang quarantine restrictions.
Kasama sa mga maaring talakayin ang ipatutupad na curfew at kung paano ang sistema sa pagbabakuna.
Habang may ECQ, sisikapin aniya ng Metro Mayors na paigtingin ang vaccination program sa lahat ng sektor.
Umaapila ang mga alkalde sa publiko na maging bahagi ng solusyon at sumunod sa mga ipinatutupad na health and safety protocol.
Statament MMDA Chair Abalos:
“The imposition of this quarantine classification is timely, thanks to the national government for granting our request. The graph presented by Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque clearly shows that the COVID-19 Delta variant is more transmissible and can spread exponentially if we are complacent and remained on status quo. The Metro Manila Council, knowing fully well that restrictions and quarantine status are not enough to further combat the virus, will meet tonight to discuss necessary course of actions to further curb and mitigate the spread of Delta variant and achieve notable accomplishments within the two-week ECQ period. Anent to our request for more vaccines, Metro Manila LGUs shall intensify their vaccination programs, inoculating as many as possible daily, to achieve population protection the soonest possible time in the NCR, it being the center of the pandemic”
