Pinasalamatan ni Senador Sonny Angara si Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, sa tiwalang ibinigay sa kaniya bilang bagong kalihim ng Department of Education.
aniya, ang mahalagang responsibilidad ay tinatanggap niya na may pagpapakumbaba.
Sinabi ni Angara, “I am deeply honored and grateful to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for the trust he has placed in me by appointing me as the Secretary of the Department of Education. This significant responsibility is one I accept with humility and a profound sense of duty.”
Tiniyak ng senador na makikipagtulungan siya sa lahat ng sektor na may kinalaman sa edukasyon, laluna sa kaniyang predecessor na si Vice President Sara Duterte.
Ito ay para matiyak na ang bawat Pilipino ay magkakaroon ng access sa de-kalidad na edukasyon.
Naniniwala si Angara na ang edukasyon ang pundasyon ng kinabukasan ng bansa.
Ayon sa senador, “I am committed to working with all sectors of society, including my predecessor, Vice President Sara Duterte, to ensure that every Filipino child has access to quality education. I look forward to building upon her accomplishments.”
Dagdag pa niya, “Education is the cornerstone of our nation’s future, and it is through collective effort that we can address the challenges and seize the opportunities ahead. I am eager to collaborate with President Marcos and the entire administration in serving our students, supporting our teachers, and enhancing the overall quality of education in our country.”
Si Angara ay nagtapos ng Master of Law sa Harvard University, at Bachelor of Laws sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas.
Nagtapos din siya ng Bachelor of Science Economics sa London School of Economics and Political Sciences at kumuha ng Advanced Level Qualifications sa Douai (doo-ay) School sa England.
Si Angara ang kasalukuyang chairman ng Senate Justice and Human Rights at commissioner ng 2nd Congressional Commission o EDCOM 2.
Ang termino ni Angara bilang senador ay magtatapos sa June 30, 2025 pero dahil na-appoint ito ay magbibitiw na siya bilang mambabatas.
