Pinoy binitay sa Saudi Arabia dahil sa murder
Kinumpirma ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na isang Pilipino ang binitay sa Saudi Arabia dahil sa kasong murder.
Ayon kay DFA Spokesperson Ma. Teresita Daza, ginawa ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas ang lahat gaya ng pagbibigay ng legal assistance kabilang na ang presidential letter of appeal para maisalba ang buhay ng Pinoy.

Sinabi ni Daza, “We regret to confirm the news that a Filipino has been executed in Saudi Arabia for murder. The Philippine Government provided legal assistance and exhausted all possible remedies, including a presidential letter of appeal. But the victim’s family refused to accept blood money in return for forgiveness of the Filipino, and so the execution proceeded.”
Dagdag pa niya, “The family in the Philippines has requested that their privacy be respected and for details to be withheld from the public. Out of respect for their wishes, we will not divulge more details on the case.”
Pero, sinabi ni Daza na tumanggi ang pamilya ng biktima sa alok na blood money kapalit ng pagpapatawad sa Pinoy kaya natuloy ang pagbitay dito.
Hindi nagbigay ng karagdagang detalye ang DFA sa kaso dahil sa kahilingan ng pamilya ng Pinoy na maigalang ang kanilang privacy.
Ikinalungkot ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., ang pangyayari pero iginiit na ginawa ng pamahalaan ang lahat sa nakalipas na lima hanggang anim na taon para i-apela ang hatol.
Pahayag ng Pangulo, “Nonetheless, we appealed to the better nature of our friends in Saudi Arabia to perhaps have another look. Unfortunately the law there is very strict, and apparently, the conviction stood and one of ours has been taken away.Yes. very unfortunate.”
Nagpaabot ng pakikiramay si Pangulong Marcos sa pamilya ng binitay na Pinoy, at tiniyak sa mga ito ang tulong partikular sa pagpapauwi sa labi ng kanilang kaanak.
Ayon sa Pangulo, “Our thoughts and prayers are with them and we will theres nothing one can do to make it whole but we will do our best [jump to] we’ll see what they need.”
