Senador Juan Miguel Zubiri, nagpasalamat sa pagkaka-aresto sa mga suspek sa Atio Slay case
Pinuri ni Senador Juan Miguel Zubiri ang desisyon ng Manila RTC na ipaaresto ang sampung suspek sa pag-torture at pagpatay sa UST Law student na si Horacio Atio Castillo III.
Naniniwala si Zubiri na malaking tulong ang ginawang imbestigasyon ng Senado para lumabas ang mga ebidensya laban sa mga suspek na magsagawa ng hazing laban kay Castillo.
Ang senado aniya ang isa sa nagrekomenda na magsampa ng kaso laban ng miyembro ng Aegis Juris fraternity na sangkot sa pagpatay.
Sinabi ni Zubiri na handa ang Senado na makipagtulungan sa Korte para mapapanagot ang mga akusado.
Maari umano nilang isumite ang Transcript ng imbestigasyon kasama na ang transcript sa isinagawa nilang executive session kung saan pinangalanan ni John Paul Sola o ang mga akusado at detalye ng ginawang hazing at pagpatay kay Castillo.
Senador Zubiri:
“I am happy to hear that the Manila RTC has ordered the arrest of the ten accused in the anti-hazing case involving the death of Atio Castillo. After many months of listening to the enraging testimonies during the Senate inquiry, I now welcome the successive developments in the case that continue to give us hope that justice will be served to Atio’s family. I am also proud that the Senate, through our investigation and Committee Report, contributed to cementing the facts of the case and helped in working toward its swift resolution”.
