Umano’y utos ni Pangulong Duterte na magpatawag ng National Council meeting sa PDP-Laban, kinuwestyon
Kinukuwestyon ng ilang lider at miyembro ng PDP-Laban ang umano’y utos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kay Energy secretary Alfonso Cusi na mag- organisa ng council meeting ng Partido.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque na inatasan ng Pangulo si Cusi na manguna sa council meeting matapos ang inilabas na memorandum ni PDP-Laban President Manny Pacquiao na nagbabawal sa mga miyembro na dumalo sa National Assembly.
Ayon kay Ron Munsayac, Executive Director ng Partido, tanging ang Chairman lang at pinuno ng partido ang maaaring magpatawag ng National Council meeting batay sa kanilang Bylaws.
Si Pangulong Duterte ang National Chairman ng Partido habang si Pacquiao ang National President.
Kuwestyon ni Munsayac, kung ang Pangulo ang nagpatawag ng pulong, bakit walang natatanggap na pormal na komunikasyon ang Partido mula rito.
Nais aniya ni Pacquiao na makausap ng personal ang Pangulo para linawin ang agenda.
Noong Marso, nagkabanggaan na sina Pacquiao at Cusi sa isyu ng paglalabas ng memo na humihikayat sa Pangulo para tumakbo bilang Vice- President sa eleksyon sa Mayo.
Statement Ron Munsayac:
“With all due respect to the Presidential Spokesperson, the PDP Laban has its Constitution and Bylaws for a reason. It’s very clear that only the Chairman (President Duterte) in coordination with the Party President (Manny Pacquiao) can call on the Party’s National Council and/or Assembly. Also, if this purported council meeting is sanctioned by our Chairman, how come we have not received any formal communication from the Chairman/President Duterte, only an announcement from his Spokesperson who isn’t even a partymate. Let us follow the proper process. Senator Manny Pacquiao will request for a meeting with Chairman/President Duterte so the two party leaders can discuss and set the agenda for the legitimate national council meeting to be set a month before the filing of candidacies, or earlier if the Chairman wishes”.
Giit naman ni Senador Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel, maraming isyung dapat unahin ang Administrasyon at makapaghihintay ang internal matters ng PDP-Laban.
