UN Special Rapporteur on the Sale and Sexual Exploitation of Children nasa bansa hanggang December 9
Bumisita sa bansa si UN Special Rapporteur on the Sale and Sexual Exploitation of Children Mama Fatima Singhateh.
Magtatagal ang pagbisita ni Singhateh hanggang December 9.
Ang pagpunta sa bansa ni Singhateh ang unang official visit ng isang UN Special Rapporteur sa Pilipinas simula 2015.
Kabilang sa mga makakapulong ng special rapporteur ang mga opisyal mula sa Department of Justice, Presidential Human Rights Committee Secretariat, Philippine National Police, Council for the Welfare of Children, at Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Makakaharap din ni Singhateh ang civil society representatives, private sector stakeholders, mga bata, at kanilang pamilya.
Ilan din sa bibisitahin niyang lugar ay ang Valenzuela City, Angeles City, Cotabato City, at Cebu City.
Nakaharap din kamakailan ni Singhateh si Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Multilateral and International Economic Affairs Carlos Sorreta sa DFA.
Umaasa si Soretta na kikilalanin ng special rapporteur ang mga nakamit at best practices ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas para mawakasan ang online sexual exploitation of children.
Tiniyak ni Sorreta sa special rapporteur na committed ang Pilipinas sa pagprotekta sa mga batang Pilipino at sa pagtugon sa mga obligasyon nito sa ilalim ng Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Ang UN Special Rapporteurs ay independent experts na itinatalaga ng UN Human Rights Council para pag-aralan at tugunan ang iba’t ibang human rights issues, at magbigay ng payo sa UN Member States.
