A house definitely still divided.
Ito ang kapansin pansin sa buong panahon ng ikalawang State of the Union Address ni U-S President Donald Trump sa loob ng walumput dalawang (82) minuto sa house chambers sa harap ng Republican at Democratic lawmakers.
Kumpara sa mga naging opening statements nina Pangulong Bill Clinton noong 1995, George W. Bush noong 2007 at Barack Obama noong 2011 — kapansin pansin na hindi man lamang in-acknowledge ni Trump ang Democratic party sa naging tagumpay ng partido na maghari sa kamara bagamat nasa likod nya si Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Kabilang sa mga issues na binanggit ni Trump na sinang-ayunan din ng fact checkers ng mga kilalang news organizations dito sa U-S…. ay mga sumusunod:
“Together we can break decades of political stalemate. we can bridge all divisions, heal old wounds, build new coalitions, forge new solutions, and unlock the extraordinary promise of america’s future. the decision is ours to make. we must choose between greatness or gridlock, results or resistance, vision or vengeance, incredible progress or pointless destruction”.
Nananatiling ito pa rin ang panawagan ni Trump mula pa noong 2016 nang una itong mahalal bilang pangulo — at nananatiling wala pa ring pagkakaisa sa pagitan g Republican and Democratic parties.
“If there is going to be peace and legislation, there cannot be war and investigation. it just doesn’t work that way. We must be united at home to defeat our adversaries abroad”.
Tila nagpahiwatig si Trump sa pahayag na ito na waring may halong pagbabanta kaugnay ng imbestigasyon ni Special Counsel Robert Mueller sa Trump Administration hinggil sa umano’y ties ni Trump sa Russia.
Ang Mueller investigation ay sinasabing malapit nang matapos.
“The border city of El Paso,Texas, used to have extremely high rates of violent crime, one of the highest in the entire country, and considered one of our nation’s most dangerous cities. Now, immediately upon its building, with a powerful barrier in place, El Paso is one of the safest cities in our country. Simply put, walls work and walls save lives”.
Ang El Paso Texas ayon sa sheriff doon ay matagal nang isa sa mga safest cities kahit bago pa maglagay si Trump ng border protection.
Kaya hindi dahil kay Trump kung kaya ang El Paso ay nananatiling isa sa mga safest cities.
Sa ekonomiya at trabaho, sinabi ni Trump na nakapag-taguyod sya ng may 5.3 million jobs.
Ayon sa Labor of Bureau and Sstatistics– 4.9 million lamang. hindi rin umano accurate na sabihin ni Trump na ang america ngayon ay nangunguna sa oil and gas production dahil sa kanya.
Ang U-S ay number one na mula pa noong 2013 — sa panahon pa ni Pangulong Barack Obama.
Kaugnay pa rin ng State of the Union address ni Trump, ipinahayag nya na sa katapusan ng Pebrero ay ang ikalawang summit kay north korean leader kim jong un na posibleng maganap sa Hanoi o sa da nang sa Vietnam.
